What is the HSC Result?

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Result is the outcome of the HSC examination. Students take this exam after completing two years of higher secondary education. It is equivalent to the 12th grade in other education systems. In Bangladesh, 11 education boards conduct the HSC examination. These include nine general education boards, one madrasah board, and one technical board. The result includes grades, GPA, and subject-wise marks. Students who pass can enroll in universities or professional courses. For madrasah education, the equivalent of the HSC Result is the Alim Result, and for technical education, the equivalent is the HSC Vocational Result.

HSC Examination 2026

According to the published schedule, the HSC Examination 2026 for all boards was held simultaneously. The written exams began on July 2 and were scheduled to end on August 8, 2026, and the practical examinations were scheduled to be completed by August 15. The exams included multiple-choice questions (MCQs), theory papers, and practical assessments. These varied based on the student’s chosen stream (Science, Arts, or Commerce). About 12.5 lakh (1.25 million) candidates took part in the examination.

The exams were conducted across 2,797 centers in Bangladesh and abroad. The nine general education boards are Dhaka, Comilla, Chittagong, Barisal, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Jessore, Sylhet, and Mymensingh. The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board oversees the Alim exam. The Bangladesh Technical Education Board manages the HSC Vocational exam. Each board ensures the exams are conducted fairly and transparently.
